Despite temperatures hovering around 20 degrees on Saturday, March 12, a hearty group of volunteers conducted the quarterly food drive for Catholic Charities. Working the event were (from left) Tom Brabec, Ron Schmitt, Jim Bova, Kevin Thomas, Debbie Lynch, Pete Ward, Mary Ellen Brabec and Roseanne Rooney. Mary Ellen, who organizes the event, reported 2,947 pounds of food and $1,170 in checks and cash collected in two hours. “The generosity is amazing!” she said. Donations were delivered to the Catholic Charities food pantry at St. Irenaeus Church in Park Forest.
Thank you St. Joe’s RE for providing 22 birthday bags for St. Iraneus Food Pantry. Peter Ward, St Joes parishioner who volunteers there said the bags were very well received!
