We mark at this midsummer the usual preoccupations: baseball, vacation plans, and the summer Olympic Games. But it also means that the academic year follows soon on the calendar. The Archdiocese has approved the return of in-person instruction for religious education. There will be precautions, of course, to assure the safety of the children. Classes will resume in mid-September. Registration will begin in the next few weeks. We are forever in search of dedicated persons who are willing to share their unique talents. We can always make use of the special skills of those who are willing to serve as catechists and teachers’ aides. For information and answers to your questions at this time please call the parish office at 708 798 0622. “Loving Father, we pray this day and always for our catechists and the students and families who seek their instruction and guidance. We thank you for their gift of this ministry. Grant us all your wisdom that we may share the understanding of your Word not just by teaching but by example. Grant that we may lead one another in love to your love. We thank you for the opportunity for us all to share with others the gifts and grace you have given us. We, as the community of the parish of St Joseph, are all united in our journey together for a closer relationship with you, our heavenly Father. For these things we constantly pray.”
Our program is well regarded. All of our graduates ascend to heaven!
