September 8, 2019 was the opening day for the 2019-2020 Religious Education program. The day began with an opening song “All are Welcome” to establish a welcoming environment. The song really captured this years theme of having hearts that welcome Jesus in everyone that we meet. This year Mrs. Alvarado is teaching the 4th grade students all about the ten commandments. Mr. Cap is teaching the 7th grade all about morality and rules for living the good life. After the opening ceremony, the students went back to their respective classrooms to start the year. We visited different classrooms to see how the students were doing. We asked them about their summer and what they are looking forward to this year. 3rd grader Jack Van Etten said he is excited to learn about the bible. This summer he went to Indiana beach and had a blast. Audrey Michel in 4th grade is excited to learn about the ten commandments. This summer she went fishing in South Carolina and caught a hammerhead shark! Eric Gsell, a 7th grader, is excited to find his confirmation saint and wants to grow deeper in his faith. Looks like this year will be a fun and enriching experience for everyone. Have a great Sunday everyone!
