Come Join Us at the St. Joe’s Mardi Gras Party Feb. 10
We can’t wait for Fat Tuesday. We’re celebrating on Saturday!
Come for the conversation, enjoy the music and share a meal with your fellow parishioners at the St. Joe’s Mardi Gras party from 6 to 9 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 10, in the Fr. Sayers Hall.
Our celebration will begin with a potluck dinner. We’re looking for a head count to help plan the event so don’t forget to fill out the information form with the number of people in your party and the items you will bring for the table – main course, salad, side dish or dessert.
Small portions of New Orleans-style gumbo will be available, along with beer, wine and sodas.
Young and old will swing with the Kings of Dixieland. This Kankakee area band has been playing together since 1983 and knows all the great New Orleans jazz music renditions. You might recognize them from their entertaining sounds at Homewood’s 4th of July parade.
Throughout the evening, volunteers will be selling chances for prizes that will delight young and old.
And don’t forget—the winners of the annual parish raffle will be announced at the Mardi Gras celebration. Tickets are on sale in the vestibule after all masses, or at the rectory. Tickets are $10 each, 7 for $50 and 15 for $100. We’ve added more prizes this year so you’ll have more chances to win. The top prize is $1,500. We’re also offering $500, $400, two $200 and two $100 prizes. Winner need not be present.
For more information, additional forms for the potluck supper or to volunteer, see Fr. Bob or ask volunteers at the raffle ticket table.
