Palms traditionally are burned for ashes marking the beginning of Lent. We will burn the palms in front of church after the 10:30 am Mass on February 11 (Sunday.) Bring the palms that you received last Palm Sunday to church. Please remove any staples from your palms. A basket will be placed in the back of the church to place your ashes.
The formula for ashes in the Roman Missal is “Repent, and believe in the Gospel,” or “Remember that you are dust, and to dust you shall return.
