2017 Marian Medal and Spirit Alive Awards Ceremony at Holy Name Cathedral
The Marian Medal and Spirit Alive ceremony was held at Holy Name Cathedral on March 19th. Girls from across the Archdiocese who completed work on these two awards during 2016 received these prestigious recognitions.
Catholic Girl Scouts who want to earn any of the religious awards can only do so outside troop meetings. The Marian Medal centers around learning more about Mary and how she is a role model for young girls and is earned in 7th and 8th grade. The Spirit Alive Award focuses on learning how to receive the Spirit in our everyday life, and then use the Spirit’s calling to make a difference in the world.
We extend our CONGRATULATIONS to Kaytlind, Mariah, and Jasmine for achieving these notable awards which demonstrate their commitment to the Catholic faith and to Girl Scouts.
Any Girl Scout who is interested in earning I Live My Faith (for Junior Girl Scouts), Marian Medal for Cadette Girl Scouts), or Spirit Alive (for Senior and Ambassador Girl Scouts) can contact Karen Schillings, [email protected] or 815-534-5598. From left to right in the photo:
