Jose Medina, a member of St. Joseph’s Arts & Environment Committee and the artist who created our parish’s beautiful 2018 Easter banners, will display his work for sale during an Art Show to be held Nov. 15-17 in the school. The parish will receive a percentage of the proceeds from the sale. Parishioners are invited to view – and purchase – his pictures and banners during one of these days:
Thursday, November 15 – 9:00am – 12:00pm and 1:00pm – 7:00 pm Friday, November 16 – 9:00am – 12:00pm and 1:00pm – 7:00 pm Saturday, November 17 – 9:00am - 12:00pm and 1:00pm – 7:00pm.
Jose Medina, a Chicago native, got his art training after serving in the Navy. He worked for years in the commercial arts and advertising industry, but never as an artist. His illustrations and paintings were done off-the-clock. In retirement he lived in Arizona for a number of years before moving to Homewood where one of his seven children lives.
