The 8th grade confirmation retreat was packed with fun activities and great learning experiences. They started by playing ice breakers that got the kids comfortable and bonded with each other. Then Father Bob came and gave a prayer for wisdom and understanding of the confirmation process. Katie Fuhrmann, a retreat facilitator, spoke about the importance of the retreat; to create a relationship with God and grow with that relationship in order to find their true identity as a follower of Christ. Another facilitator, Delaney Eaheart, said she wanted to get the 8th graders ready for confirmation and to get them excited for a bright future in the church. Some of the things the 8th graders have to do for confirmation is pick a saint and a sponsor. Rebecca Urbaniak picked St. Caroline because she believes in others and herself and Rebecca feels that she is a good representation of herself. When asked about their sponsor, many kids picked an individual that they felt connected to and someone they could trust. Violet Quirke said she picked one of her close family friends because she looks up to her and trusts her. The confirmation retreat was a big success that truly got the 8th graders ready for their next stage in life as a member of the church.
